Mohammed Polo advises C.K.Akonnor to target local-based players in Black Stars call up

The former coach of Accra Hearts of Oak, Mohammed Polo has advised Black Stars coach, Charles Kwabena Akonnor to target local-based players in Black Stars call up ahead of the 2021 African Cup Qualifiers.

The experienced Ghanaian football trainer said this in an interview with the host of TRU 92.5FM’s evening sports programme ‘Sports Light’, Richmond K.Entsie(GFA) yesterday March 2,2020.

Mohammed Polo said Black Stars has depended on foreign players for long but the expected results have still not been met.

“Ghana has won all the four African Cup of Nation trophies with the help of local-based players so a relook at them can give the team a positive results especially now that they league is in full form”.He added.

Some known local players like Rev.Osei Kofi,Kwasi Appiah,Abedi Ayew Pele etc. has left memorable records in the history of the senior national men’s team.

The Black Stars of Ghana is preparing to face the Falcons of Jediene on 27th March 2020 at the Cape Coast Stadium in the 2021 African Cup of Nations Qualifiers.
