Member of Parliament for Upper West Akim District and also Parliamentary Candidate of NDC Donates Items to TRU 92.5FM and parts of Upper West Akim District To Fight Against Coronavirus

The NDC Parliamentary Candidate Also the Current Member of Parliament, Hon.Derek Assifo Bekoe has donated hand sanitisers and assorted personal protective equipment to fight coronavirus pandemic in his constituency TRU 92.5FM and Ghana at large.

According to him, “as part of his contribution to the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, my campaign team donate hand sanitisers, assorted personal hygiene and Protective equipment to help protect the frontliner workers fighting the spread of the coronavirus in his constituency. Items including hand Sanitisers, buckets with fitted tap valves for quick hand washing outside before entry (Veronica Buckets) and Carbolic Soaps which has rapid reactions on germs, bacterias as well as viruses,those benefited from the items were Adeiso Police Station, District NHIS Office, GPRTU-Adeiso and Adeiso Market Women, District Education Directorate, District Clinic and all other Health Facilities across the Constituency”.

He added that, “In as much as I wish I could donate to all the major towns in the Constituency”, the beneficiaries also expressed their joy and gratitude for the items supplied, particularly the sanitisers since it’s become difficult to find even if you have money to buy.
At Adeiso Health Centre, it could be recalled that the In-Charge, was overwhelmed by the kind donation from Mr.Dereck Assifo Bekoe. He said, “in fact this donation has beefed up our measures to prevent the spread of the coronavirus pandemic especially the Hand Sanitizers. Ever since we started this fight against the pandemic, our facility has not seen a single bottle of hand sanitizer, we only rely on methylated spirit and carbolic soaps in disinfecting our hands and that of our clients and visitors”.

Lastly Hon. Dereck Assifo Bekoe stated none of the people in Upper West Akim District has been Suspected nor confirmed of COVID-19 but yet prevention is better than cure,
so he urges all citizens in the constituency to follow the instructions been given from the MOH and wash hands regulary.
